Welcome to #TheCODEShow. Celebrating the 1980s home computing boom. We bring a hands on working timeline of computing technology (15-20 machines ) for children (teachers and parents after school) to explore and learn through play. We tell the story how Britain's children learned to code/programme for the first time with the advent of the home computer at home and in school.
We also bring along Sinclair C5 to demonstrate that electric cars are not a new technology whilst promoting STEM areas and in addition to all this we bring also historical storage media, processors and handheld technology. From 1970's through to present day VR we cover it all
We had The CODE Show in school on Friday, who were absolutely incredible !My first workshop organized as computing lead.Gary was sensational promoting girls in computing but was a big hit with all our teachers as his passion really came across in the morning assembly. We had parents raving about their afterschool experience and look forward to inviting this incredible workshop back next year. Thankyou so much Gary you were truly inspiring.

Our staff, Students and parents absolutely loved seeing the unique devices brought in. Many of them went out of their way to have a look at the workshop and some had to be dragged away from them, especially the C5 Sinclair. We actually had OFSTED in during the day of the event who were very impressed with the workshop and agreed it was a fantastic opportunity for students to help them understand the development of technology in Britain and how this affects their future careers. We're already looking forward to welcoming the CODE show back next year".

The Code Show was an absolutely superb way to engage and excite children about the computing curriculum. It also ties in well with history, British Values and the promotion of STEM and different potential career paths for children. We were also able to host an exhibition for parents at the end of the day which was very well attended. The Code Show is both a fantastic experience to be a part of and a clever way of ticking many Ofsted boxes. Gary’s commitment to travelling with all of this equipment and sharing his expertise is incredible and I would recommend The Code Show to any school

Without doubt the best external visit we have hosted. We’ve had Olympic athletes ,World class authors in school but nothing has come close to this . The students are still talking about it and our management staff would like to invite you back again next year. You’ve got something very special indeed here.Long may it continue,

Your passion for computing, British history, girls in tech and celebrating the 1980s computing boom is clearly evident, As I mentioned earlier you really should be giving a TED Talk or BETT Keynote speech. Our students were in awe of your visit and you’ve ignited a spark into our computing subject . Truly amazing day.
