School of Noise: Science of Sound

The School of Noise run school workshops exploring the music and science of sound. During these 1hr-2hr hands-on sessions, children will explore a range of musical and scientific instruments including a theremin, discover Chladni patterns in sand, create Foley sounds for film and TV, sample noises to make music and more!

There is no need to have any prior knowledge to access these workshops and they are designed to complement KS2 and KS3 sound topics.

Experience:
The School of Noise have delivered workshops in a wide variety of locations including: primary schools throughout the UK, music festivals (Womad, Latitude, Green Man), museums (Museum of Science and Industry, Museum of London, V&A Museum of Childhood), arts centres (Southbank Centre and Barbican), BBC Radio 4, BAFTA, Great Ormond Street Hospital, as well as overseas in Spain, Norway, Canada, Oman, China, United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands.
