One Hour Introduction to Puppetry Workshop
Our facilitators are experienced in working with all ages and able to tailor workshops to suit your needs.
Workshop Structure
Students will participate in a group warm up and then begin to explore and combine Storytelling, Puppetry and Vocal techniques. Students will be guided through improvisation and devising exercises and then use their new repertoire of skills to create and rehearsing material in collaboration with others. There will be the opportunity for students to present their Puppetry Performances to the group and discuss/ review their own development and application of performance skills.

The Introduction to Puppetry Workshop is designed to be accessible to Key Stage 1 and 2 while also supporting learners at Key Stage 3, 4 and beyond. The workshop content supports several of the learning aims and objectives for BETEC Performing Arts, GCSE and AS/A Level Drama (OCR, AQA, Edexcel) including:
- Demonstrate understanding of the skills, techniques and approaches used by professionals to create performance/production work
- Develop a range of theatrical skills and apply them to create performances
- Work collaboratively to generate, develop and communicate ideas
- Develop the creativity and independence to become effective theatre makers
