*********************TESTIMONIALS********************

“The pupils really look forward to their weekly music lessons with Matt!
He is knowledgeable, patient and the music the children listen to and play along with is well-known and cool, which engages them and inspires them to learn how to play the guitar. Lots of pupils had guitars for Christmas as a result of the weekly lessons!”

January 2025 - Mrs Sophie Slater-Baynes, Deputy Headteacher/SENCO. Havana Primary School, Cheshire.

“Matt has been working with our Year 4 class for the last few weeks and from day one identified the children who needed extra support. His calm and positive approach ensures that the children are immersed in their guitar lessons and want to succeed. Matt guides the children so that they learn lots of new songs within a short space of time which improves self-esteem and concentration. Many of our children have asked their grown-ups for guitars! Within the space of five lessons, Matt has encouraged all of the children to persevere, try their best and most importantly, to have fun and enjoy their guitar lessons. All of the Year 4 children performed a concert in front of the whole school and their parents/carers and were incredibly proud of their achievements. We couldn’t have done this without Matt’s gentle persuasion and huge talent! We look forward to our weekly guitar lessons and we have Matt to thank for this.”

"We had an absolutely fantastic workshop with Matt. The children progressed massively within the hour and there was such a musical buzz about the school all day! Thanks Matt. I'd highly recommend your workshops. They are pitched perfectly!"Sarah Keating (Music Lead)

“Very captivating for the children, Matt played lots of songs the children were familiar with, which the children loved!”
Olivia Frayne (Year 3 teacher)

“Everyone really enjoyed the workshop.  It was brilliant to have an hour and a guitar each.  I think this gave us really good value for money.  The children enjoyed the fact that they could get playing almost straight away.  The music was easy to follow and the majority of the children felt that they had achieved. I would definitely like to see this as a regular event.” Melanie Dickenson (Year 6 teacher)

“Thank you for your session, the children really enjoyed it”
Emma Roberts – Year 2 Teacher, Keeble Gateway Academy, Thirsk, Yorkshire (November 2021)

“It was great to see year 8 and 9 students engaged in learning a new instrument and students who already knew how to play chords, still learning how to fingerpick and play individual pitches. It was an enjoyable day had by all. Matt was very encouraging and explained techniques clearly.” – Abbi Prentice, Music Teacher, Lyndon High School, (September 2021)

“Matt from Kids That Rock accommodated all of our needs, and Year 6 absolutely loved their workshop! The children got so much from the day and left feeling inspired and excited – one staff member described the atmosphere as ‘absolutely buzzing with excitement’. Thank you so much, Matt – we will be booking again!” – Jody Dingley, Assistant Headteacher, Whitgreave Primary, West Midlands (May 2021)

“A fantastic workshop offered by a talented musician and teacher! I couldn’t believe how the Y6 class sounded after just one session with Matt! We will definitely be making this a regular event at school. Amazing!”

“Kids that Rock was a perfect musical treat during our school’s Enrichment Week. The children showed a great deal of progress during the day and Matt maintained a fun atmosphere. The material covered was fully inclusive and every child remained engaged throughout, due to the wide range of activities and Matt’s friendly style. I’d certainly recommend Kids that Rock and hope to book again next year.”

“Matt gives the children a brilliant taste of learning an instrument in a way that enthuses and motivates them. He does this in a relevant way, by using current music which the children can engage with. I would definitely recommend his workshops.”
