FINDING THE WILL - Shakespeare Workshops

Making Shakespeare fun and accessible for all ages.
Shakespeare Workshops and Project Weeks for Primary Schools.

A FINDING THE WILL Primary School workshop or Project Week, whether it be for KS1 or KS2, is an all-round, all inclusive, interactive learning experience. Our Shakespeare workshops and Project Weeks for schools are aimed at KS1 and KS2 and KS3 in Special Educational Needs Schools. The students require no prior knowledge of the play, in fact we actively encourage teachers not to reveal the story before we arrive. The workshop element is designed to be interactive whereby the students are encouraged to use their imaginations, answering questions and playing characters in the story. The Project Weeks culminate in the students performing their own version of the chosen play. Every student participating in a Project Week is guaranteed a role.

An FTW Shakespeare workshop or Project Week not only gives an understanding of a well-known Shakespeare play but also helps with:

- Listening skills
- Language development
- Team building - Resilience
- Concentration
- Imagination
- Confidence boosting
- Empathy
- And it’s Fun!

A complimentary Teachers’ Pack is provided.

FINDING THE WILL believes there are never wrong answers only interesting ideas.

MACBETH – When shall we three meet again?
A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM – Ill met by moonlight proud Titania!
THE TEMPEST – We are such stuff as dreams are made on.
HAMLET – To be or not to be?
TWELFTH NIGHT – A plague on these pickled herrings!
ROMEO & JULIET – Two households both alike in dignity.

What People Say

As teachers, we felt empowered to tackle Shakespeare with children as young as Reception and this was down to the workshops led by FINDING THE WILL along with the teacher pack. The sessions were professional and supportive to all children. There were no great demands placed on us either which meant we could keep mindful of our workload too.

The entire project was a complete thrill for the children from start to finish and really immersed the children in the language and structure of Shakespeare’s writing. A fantastic week all in all and one that will be cherished by the entire year group for years to come! Thank you!
