FabDrumming

Popular

Children love banging on drums and making lots of noise. FabDrumming teaches them to play and create music together. Their school drumming workshops provide a fun and dynamic learning experience after which, your pupils will be energized, appreciative of each other and proud of their achievements. Drumming has many benefits; encouraging creativity, self expression and rhythmic coordination while also improving manual and psychomotor skills.

FabDrumming offers the following workshops:

African Drumming – Every person gets an instrument to play. For a group of maximum 35 people I have an African (djembé) drum for everyone. I can also bring other handheld percussion instruments like shakers, bells and scrapers and show costumes made of African wax prints to make the experience even more exciting.

Junk percussion – Go green and make music with recycled instruments such as barrels, pots and pans, PVC tubes, etc.

Drum circle – Combine creativity and teamwork by playing and creating music together.

Body percussion – Make music without instruments. Body percussion uses hands, feet and voice to play rhythms and make music.

South African Gumboot Dancing – A combination of body percussion and dancing involves hitting your boots with rhythmic slaps, hand clapping and feet stomping.

African dance – Sing easy call-response songs and learn an uplifting African dance. Workshops also make ideal teambuilding exercises which will energise and inspire your teaching staff through the beauty and joy of the drumming experience.

Music Improvisation - FabDrumming is a certified provider of the Kobranie method, a playful and accessible musical form in which improvisation, ensemble playing, improvisation, teamwork and creativity are central. In this workshop the focus is on 'creating without judgement', so that everyone feels the freedom to try out new ideas. We create a common language through gestures. Every gesture invites musical play, so that instant compositions are created from conducted improvisation.

What People Say

Thank you so, so much for the brilliant workshop yesterday. The children were absolutely buzzing afterwards! They really enjoyed it and it gives me plenty to follow up on in class too.
